Meta Crystal is most likely based on the Cavern of the Metal Cap side level from Super Mario 64, where a large green switch could be pressed to activate the green Metal Cap blocks found throughout the game. Fighting takes place on a suspended platform in a metallic cave-like area that has large crystals in the background, with the lower level flooring being made entirely out of metal and the platform above it comprised of a cuboid object surrounded by grating. Hovering the mouse cursor over the icon displays the hold duration if applicable.Meta Crystal (also known as Metal Mario's Stage and Metal Cavern) is a stage from the original Super Smash Bros it is where players fight against Metal Mario in the game's 1P Mode, taking place before the battles against the Fighting Polygon Team and ultimately, Master Hand. Icons encased in square brackets require the respective button(s) to be held down. Hovering the mouse cursor over the Command Input icons will display text that refers to the inputs set in M.U.G.E.N's Key Config. It also rarely performs its assists or Hypers, and since this character relies on them, it makes for an easy opponent. It jumps around very often and rarely attacks. When it uses its Taunt, it gains Life and Power, though it can only be used once per round. However, its Hypers deal more damage than MUGENHunter's other character's Hypers, with Body Laser Cannon dealing above average damage for a level 1 Hyper and Super Eletric Field Attack taking out half of the opponent's Life if its hits.

Unlike MUGENHunter's other characters, it lacks the feature where pressing two buttons at once when performing the command for a Hyper activates a more powerful version of that Hyper. This character also has two Specials of its own. This character's main focus is to summoming them from a distance while staying away from the opponent. They perform one of their Specials when summoned and deal decent damage. This character's main method of dealing damage is utilizing its various assists, which are gray-scale holograms of some of MUGENHunter's other Sonic characters. Its jump velocities are awkward it falls very quickly after jumping. While its Normals deal moderate damage, it is impossible to make long combo strings. This character's attacks are rather sluggish and it's hard to combo with this character.

Unlike MUGENHunter's newer characters, the Ⓒ and Ⓩ buttons aren't used and it doesn't have a Dodge. It uses Ⓐ and Ⓧ for punches and Ⓑ and Ⓨ for punches. This version of Metal Sonic uses the same button layout as MUGENHunter's other characters, having a The King of Fighters-styled gameplay, akin to MUGENHunter's other characters.
